Jim in the lightBismarck United Church of Christ reaches out beyond the needs of the parish and provides hope that endures to those who are in need. We have a long term commitment to minister to and with hurting people in our community and around the world. We do not sponsor film crews who set up for a year or so and make huge promises then leave. We do not believe in filling the heads of starving people with false promises. To provide a tractor in a developing country where people can’t read the manual or afford the fuel is a waste; local folks would be better off farming the ground it stands on. Working with partners near and far, we endeavor to build a mission program which meets real needs, respects human dignity and empowers people for more faithful living.

In the UCC we help build communities of faith and, in the process, our own churches are strengthened. We make long-term commitments, and we respect the societies, cultures and traditions of our mission partners. We go to them carrying love, hope, and knowledge. We return with strengthened faith, heightened joy and a broader understanding of God’s people.

Charles Hall Youth Services - is a partner of Bismarck United Church of Christ spawned from needs caused by building of the Garrison dam on the Native American Indian it has grown into so much more over the past few years.

East Timor - is a county on the verge of good things. The country has been through a lot and the people barely endure the winter months without starving to death. Bismarck UCC is working to build a school there to help the East Timories rise out of it all and live a better lives.

Jack’s Place Food Pantry - in our own community we have folks that for one reason or another need basic sustenance to survive. Be it food for the baby or cereal for breakfast we have cupboards with food just for them.

Global Ministries - on a grander scale we tend to need organization in our scurry to help the lives of others. Global Ministries is a good source for things like that.
